| PCD DRILLS, ROUGHER & FINISHING TOOLS | |
 The HAM PCD drill point utilizes a chevron shaped PCD blank that covers the entire chisel as well as both cutting edges. Many PCD drill manufactures will use two individual tips to cover only the cutting edge thus leaving the chisel as carbide. Over time the carbide chisel will build up and eventually chip out, this this will cause a catastrophic failure where the tool will be un-repairable. The HAM PCD drill point can be re-sharpened as long as the PCD is not chipped. We have many PCD drills that are exceeding 400,000 holes before a resharp is necessary. All HAM PCD tooling is finish ground on all diameters as well as all of the cutting surfaces. A diameter or cutting surface that is wire cut to size will break down considerably faster, also the surface finish in the bore will be rough as compared to a finish ground tool. HAM has the capability to supply PCD finishing tools in all popular shank configurations as a monoblock design. (HSK, CAT, BT, SK) All HAM tooling is dynamically balanced and inspected on a Zoller Genius 3. All PCD specials are provided with approval drawings and shipped with a detailed inspection report.
